Lending Libraries Gifting All of Us With a Mid-Week Boost
NOTE: My wife Jennifer thought of an idea regarding my latest book “Breadcrumbs Vol. 2: Poetry & Prose Found Along the Sacred Path.” What if folks purchased a copy for themselves and also one for their local library, even those small neighborhood Lending Libraries? Cool! But what would be my writing angle around the libraries, of which I have little experience? I know - a short modern-day Fairy Tale. Hence…
THE LITTLE LAND OF LENDY
Once upon a time, there was this little land called Lendy.
The little people there had small needs - only needing a little food, a little shelter and a short-term subscription for only one streaming service.
Due to the fact ginormous neighborhood dogs and cats would play with them, like chew toys, the Lendy folks would place their homes high upon sticks.
They spent most of their days reading the large collection of books that filled their homes … pretty much to the ceiling.
There was only one problem though.
The people here had a specific deficiency that affected their well-being. Seeing as they could not be well without this one element in their lives, they knew they had to do something. And what were they lacking? Yup, they experienced “PD,” as they all were “Poetry Deficient.”
Now, there was this neighborhood bard - JAE - who could actually hear the small voices of these folks. They called out to him often, mostly when he walked by with his wife on their daily 30-minute walk. At first this poet figured it was his muse coming through, but then realized later it was actually these little beings. Pretty much because their words didn’t rhyme hardly ever.
After he realized he was like Horton from the classic “Horton Hears a Who,” JAE decided to help out these folks, wanting to alleviate their suffering.
He spent many ages writing 275 poems, before collecting 108 of them for a book of poetry. “Breadcrumbs Vol. 2.” And he chose to share the goods with them.
Now, JAE asks that everyone help out those in the land of Lendy by ensuring all these little houses upon sticks have within them a book of poetic lines of rhyme.
We can all do our little part.
